New Year’s Resolutions

Hello Friends,

Exercise is a gift that you give to yourself that just keeps on giving. Visiting your gym several times a week will provide you with the energy and the positive attitude to be there for your family and friends.

Healthy Lifestyle Tip: Health Boosters for Busy People
We know that you’re busy so here are some tips you can use throughout your day that may improve your health and relieve some stress:

Slim down while you wait in line. You can’t lose five pounds just standing in a line, but you can work on good posture which can make you look like you’ve lost a few pounds. Focus on proper posture: back straight, bottom in, chest out, shoulders back, head high, jaw aligned, making sure your top and bottom teeth aren’t touching each other. Feel good? Practice this every day (sitting and standing), and you’ll be amazed at the changes in how you look and feel.

Use your commute. If you have to use your car to commute it can provide an important transition time between work and home and can be the perfect time to relax and refocus when you are feeling stressed. Start by relaxing your jaw and loosening your grip on the steering wheel and take a deep breath. Then, see if you can identify the real source of your stress so you don’t lash out at the traffic.

Make a to-do list. Create a clear game plan by making a list of what you can realistically accomplish. The list will help you tackle your day and help you avoid unimportant details that take up your time.

Wake up and firm up. Work on your abdominal strength by just holding your stomach in tightly. Then, squeeze your bottom in as if you’re trying to pull on a pair of jeans that are too tight, and pretend that your head is being pulled towards the ceiling by a string. Hold that position. Nobody will notice anything apart from that you look far more awake than they do.

Demand great entertainment. Don’t be a couch potato in front of the TV unless what you’re watching really warrants your attention. Turning it off 10 minutes into a boring program gives you an extra 20 minutes to walk, search the internet for healthy recipes, put together a new playlist or go shopping for a smaller belt online.
