Number of Uninsured Falls Slightly
The number of people without health insurance in the United States fell slightly even as employment-based coverage continued its long, steady decline, the Bureau of the Census reported Tuesday. Last year, the number of Americans without health insurance fell to 45.7 million, down slightly from 47 million in 2006, while the percentage of the population without coverage dropped to 15.3% from 15.8%.
